What is Prayer? – Talking With God
Prayer is our direct line with heaven. Prayer is a communication process that allows us to talk to God! He wants us to communicate with Him, like a person-to-person phone call. Cell phones and other devices have become a necessity to some people in today’s society. We have bluetooth devices, blackberries, and talking computers! These are means of communication that allow two or more people to interact, discuss, and respond to one another.

What Does the Bible Say?

Pray for each other

Jesus set an example for us on what to pray. He prayed for His disciples and for every generation to come that would follow Him. His prayer was that God protect and strengthen them as long as they were in this world. Jesus also prayed for those who would come to believe in Him through the Gospel message (John 17).

Pray with faith.

“So, you see, it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).

Pray with worship and reverence.

“Exalt the LORD our God! Bow low before his feet, for he is holy!” (Psalm 99:5). “‘Yes, Lord,’ the man said, ‘I believe!’ And he worshiped Jesus” (John 9:38).

  1. I have a prayer request! All my life I have had the attitude of not waiting for the Lords timing, so instead I would try to fill the gaps while emotionally going 100 mph in my mind trying to think of the next thing I can do until the Lord caught up with me. Today the Lord convicted my heart about this dangerous attitude and I repented, but I still need prayer that my flesh side won’t take over and place God on the back burner again.

Please pray for my loved ones battling alcohol/drug addictions, marriage problems, that are leading them into depression, for safety while out in the world trying to make a living and any other that is not of the Holy Spirit, pray that love be placed with true forgiveness to all those that may have hurt them in anyway, to be released from anger, hate and all that is not of God, to be restored and return to worshiping the maker of heaven and earth, also to pray for those that sell drugs and alcohol to also be touched by the Holy Spirit thank you in advance
